WHAT IS TAEKWON DO?
In Korean, tae means “to strike or break with foot” kwon means “to strike or break with fist” and do means “way”, “method”, or “path”. Therefore taekwondo may be loosely translated as “the way of the hand and the foot.
WHO ARE T-UK?
Taekwon-Do - UK was officially formed on the 22nd of March 2011 after Master John Archer decided that after many years as Vice President for a previous organisation, that he would like to try and start a new association with a fresh new approach.
Mr Archer VI, Mr James Miley VI and Mr David Condie V had travelled to Rome the previous month, (February 2011), for a pivotal meeting with ITF legend Grand Master Wim Bos and immediately on their return they applied to affiliate the new organisation, ‘Taekwon-Do UK’, to the ITF.
T-UK now has around 2,000 members with strongholds in Scotland, the North-West, the Central region. The main aim of T-UK is to provide the highest quality standards of Taekwon-Do in the UK at an affordable price.
T-UK provide proffessional tournaments, courses, seminars and gradings along with top quality insurance. All instructors are regularly CRB/DBS checked and are of the highest standards.
